
A 33-year resident of Humboldt County, Mr. Latt received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Yale University in 1990. He attended Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco on a full merit scholarship, graduating in the top eighth of his class, and received a certificate of specialization in Environmental Law. His primary areas of practice include real property law, business law, estate planning (wills, trusts, and probate) and civil litigation. Mr. Latt is an Eagle Scout and was an 8-year director and former president of the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District, served a term on the board of Food for People, and since 2014, has served as Treasurer of the Humboldt County Bar Association. In 2017, he started the Native Wills Project, where he writes wills pro bono twice a year on a Saturday for local tribal elders.
Prior to law school, Mr. Latt was an organic farmer for twelve years in Orleans, California, where he annually produced eighty tons of fresh fruits and vegetables for local Humboldt County farmers' markets, supermarkets and restaurants.
In his spare time, he enjoys family life, civic engagement, reading, cycling and wild mushroom hunting.

Steve serves as office manager, paralegal and assistant to Mr. Latt. A current law student, he looks forward to a long career practicing law in and around Humboldt County. Steve received a Bachelor's Degree in ecology from Cornell University in 2016, graduating with honors and a distinction in research. Having lived in Humboldt since 2017, Steve now resides in McKinleyville with his wife, daughter and various animals. In his copious free time, Steve enjoys gardening, building things, cycling, and hiking through our beautiful forests and beaches.
Like Mr. Latt, Mr. Breitenstein is an Eagle Scout.
